1. Overview
The USB-MPI/DP adapter is a high-end adapter compatible with Siemens PCAdapterUSB (6ES7972-OCB20-OXAO), fully supporting computer USB to industrial fieldbus MPI and DP port programming; it uses USB bus power supply; and it is suitable for the entire Siemens S7- 300/400 series PLC and RN300 series PLC. The USB-MPI/DP adapter is an isolated adapter designed for industrial applications, featuring surge protection and lightning protection circuits on both the USB and RS485 ports. It allows for hot-plugging and is particularly suitable for industrial environments with high interference and easily damaged communication ports. Various protection measures in the circuitry ensure the safe operation of the system. 1. Overview
It enables level conversion from RS232 to RS485 interfaces and conversion from RS232 to MPI (MultiPoint Interface) protocol, used to connect an S7-300 PLC to third-party HMIs for communication, such as touchscreens from Weintek, Boke, Kunlun Tongtai, and Xiankong that support the MPI protocol.
